I can't explain their performances OOC, but in conference they've been awful.
67-64 and 96-75 home losses to the Washington schools. Then swept home and home w/ Stanford 73-40 and 79-65. Only remotely close once and that was to a UW team that has all kinds of issues (they can't shoot and they struggle to score).
Take Brown out of the mix, and Cal doesn't have much. Plus, just about any size they have is all seniors and juniors, mostly seniors. We were plus 26 on the boards tonight. I think that program is going to get worse before it gets better. With Anigwe and Brown, they could always be tough. With just Brown, not so much. Beavers giving up just 53.6 points per game through 5 5 conference games, and have outboarded those 5 teams by 14 per game. Shot 54.2% from the field tonight, and Kennedy looked comfortable. We'll be fine. Coach Smith is recruiting well, they have front court help coming next season, but they will be young.
Obviously this was a comfortable win. Great to see contributions from Morris and Simmons.

70-68 USC final. Both teams screwed up repeatedly when they had the game all but won.
Thanks Trojans!

USC with the double OT win vs UCLA.
OSU currently in 4 way tie for first place in conference with UCLA, Stanford and ucks.
UCLA looks very pedestrian without Onyenwere.

USC with the double OT win vs UCLA. OSU currently in 4 way tie for first place in conference with UCLA, Stanford and ucks. Technically isn't UCLA alone at 5-1? They beat SC earlier just after Xmas so have 6 Pac12 games in. UCLA, ucks, winner OSU/Furd in 3 way after Sunday.

UCLA might have just kicked to the curb their schedule advantage, although it won’t matter much if Onionwear misses many games.

Cal beat #23 Ark, lost by 2 to #11 Kentucky, and lost by 11 at UConn. They haven’t played well in conference, but they are a decent team in the grander scheme. I can't explain their performances OOC, but in conference they've been awful.

Pac 12 is the toughest conference in the country. It's really sad but not only is there no Oregon St Cal game thread on the Cal site, but there is no mention what so ever of the game. All they mention is the beating their hated rival Stanford took from Oregon St.

Seasons have ebbs and flows...I don't want us peaking in January. Some players are struggling with their shots...Goodman as an example. Her history has shown she is a very good shooter. I'm sure she is working extra hard after practice to get her shot back.
Even if we don't win the conference, coach Rueck has proven he can take teams on the road and win...ex: at Tennessee,at Stanford, etc.
This conference is a meat grinder. Guess what we're going to probably lose a couple more conference games. We're not going to be a well oiled machine every night...if that is some fans expectation, then you're going to be stressed till the season ends. Just enjoy the ride...what team wouldn't want to be 16-1 and in the race for the final 4.

It would be awesome to play in Portland in the tournament..im sure beaver nation would pack the arena. This conference is so tough, that it's possible we could have four number one or two seeds in the tournament. I think our coaching staff sees the big picture...if we win the conference or not. Be playing our best basketball in March.
