Both Pac 12 teams tonight need a defense.

I guess it's a little late for me to weigh in, but I was busy watching tonight's bowl games. What I would have said is the same thing that I've been saying all along...That Sagarin (and, as it turns out, Vegas) has it right:
The favorites will win: UW, Cal, ASU, and Utah
The underdogs will lose: USC, WSU, and the ducks.
The one I'm least confident in is the ducks, but there's no way I'm going to put myself into a position of needing to root for the ducks in order to be "right".
I said earlier in the week that the end of Friday could find the Pac-12 1-2 in bowl games and I knew that losing these two games today would make Pac-12 fans unhappy, but it's not like we've spent all year thinking that USC and WSU were our shining stars. I had no reason to believe that Sagarin and the odds makers were wrong about USC's ability to underperform or WSU's inability to play defense.
UW had to win and did. I think ASU can and will win. I think Cal can win. I think Utah can and will win. I'm afraid the ducks can and will win. I think we all know that the ducks and UW were the best in the North and that Utah and possibly ASU were the best in the South (despite USC and UCLA having better records than ASU). If those 4 teams win, to get the conference to 4-3 or maybe even 5-2 in the bowl games, then I would say it was a successful bowl season (despite the apparent surprise some are feeling right now that USC and WSU lost).
