Kind of off topic, but Nyara Sabally, the younger but bigger sister of Satou Sabally, just re-tore her ACL and must sit out a second straight year for Oregon. Tough blow for her and her team. This makes me think OSU should be very, very cautious concerning Kat's recovery and return to play.

Read that - does not actually say ‘how’ it happened. Makes me wonder if it was a non basketball related injury ?
I am glad that the Beavs got through Italy without any injuries.

With all the basketball the girls play during the summer, I'm always concerned that someone might get injured. I'm glad the team seems to have made it this far without any injuries. The one thing about having so much talent this year, the team looks like it will be deeper at most positions this season. The seemingly good play of Taylor, Kennedy, and Jasmine in Italy bodes well for depth.

This makes me think OSU should be very, very cautious concerning Kat's recovery and return to play. I think it makes sense to hold her out for many of the early games for multiple reasons. For one to make sure she is really recovered and able to play at her optimum level. Second if she misses much of the early part of the season ( games before conference play ) it might positively affect the committee's decision to allow her an extra year. It would be better for both the team and Kat that she gets that extra year rather than what she might accomplish in more games at less than 100 %. As I stated before, even though she could shoot now, lateral movement is the last to return after this sort of injury. And for those with eyes, defense was a major part of her contribution. For defense you have to have lateral movement.
