Wow we had one athlete make nationals, finishing tenth and scoring zero points. I guess you gotta crawl before you can walk. Women's T&F/CC get 18.6 scholarships. We have elected to put our scholarship money into distance running, throws/jumps and heptathlon, over sprints/relays. It's a big reason the MeArpino twins transferred. They were getting too much money for no return and did not want to transition into events where they had a legit chance of scoring at Pac-12s/nationals. Our CC team took 6th in the Pac-12 and advanced to the NCAA finals last year for the first time in history. As a previous poster said, we had some athletes perform well at regionals, just not quite top-12 caliber. It's incredibly hard to advance to the NCAA championships. When we advance more women to the NCAA TRACK meet (and we will) it will be in distance events, throws and multi-events. We have advanced our cross country team to the NCAA finals, and will continue to do so. You have to look at CC/T&F as one entity. We are far beyond the crawling stage. Sorry you can't see that, but you do seem to generally dwell on the negative whenever possible. I sure hope you're right. We've been waiting years, 15 years to be exact. I admire your extreme patience.

We didn't even have an on-campus track, or fully-funded program, for many of those years. Now we have a great track and more funding, but no grandstands/on-site locker rooms. It's not hard to see why we aren't dominating the Pac-12, even though, as I said, our cross country program has taken dramatic strides.
FWIW, USC invests no money in distance runners. So it finishes last or next-to-last every single year in Pac-12 cross country. Pick your poison.

We have a better coaching staff now. Not one athlete developed into a post-collegiate competitor under Sullivan (Carlyle kind of did). I understand not being able to recruit anything more than a three-star equivalent track athlete but to have only one make it to the NCAA championships is stunning. Portland hosts a large meet at Lewis and Clark every year the weekend after the NCAA championships. I'd see athletes from every northwest university there (and many other west coast schools) except one. You know the missing school.

Fascinating discussion on what words to capitalize. Look what I’ve created.

It was not like this two and more years ago in the past. Also, here is a link with the new signings. Obviously this is the most talented group we have ever brought in. osubeavers.com/news/2019/6/9/womens-track-field-track-field-inks-23-for-2018-19-class.aspx

Emily Weber and Morgan Anderson ran after their eligibility was completed. There's just not any money in it at all unless you are an elite performer. Even the former DOO (can't remember her name), an Olympian and national champion at Michigan, just barely scraped by trying to run as a pro.
Yes, we are better off now, Louie is an excellent choice, kudos to Barnes for the hire. Kelly did about as much as he could, given our limited resources and no track for many years, and his athletes were spectacular in the classroom. He had some bad luck with injuries (Kristi Width, Sam McKinnon). And he did hire Dave Dumble.
We had some women running at L&C, Colette Richter and Grace Fetherstonhaugh competed. Grace ran a 10:05 steeple.

I did see Weber run a 5000 last year in about 16:10 (much faster than while at OSU) at the OSU meet. Do you know if she is competing this year? She was training with Gomez and that was a big help as Gomez has stratospherically improved after going to Idaho. I believe you are thinking about Geena Gall. She had four (?) good and profitable years with Nike.
