OK. I'll bite. What's "not quite"? I'm sure baseba1111 will tell you shortly, that she's a "verbal" commit and she's not a Beav until she signs and submits her LOI.

BlueStar ranks Ms. Goforth as number 7 in the nation! www.bluestarbb.com/Yikes, the Ducks have commits from 3 of top 10! Looks like the Beavs will just have to get busy and recruit a couple more...well, at least one more in the top 10 before summers end!

As I look at the BlueStar 'rankings and evaluations' it's good to see the Beavs are actively recruiting players on BlueStar's top 10 list in 2021, 2022, and 2023. The Beavs are a team that these girls grew up watching as one of the top teams in the country, and barring some major disaster, I think it's fair to say we can expect the Beavs to continue to land top 50 players in the years to come.

Scott and his staff are the keys to this continuing. Also, our record and achievements year over year will play a huge role. The key there is going to be zero injuries, which no team can predict or prevent. I see no potential at all with issues the ducks, SC, and other teams have; that being playing time, coaching issues and players not meshing on the floor or off the court. ducks and Stanford, and asu will be tougher. Beavs will be tougher ( real time athletic height and proven guard play ). May be a slight drop off for other teams - however the PAC is always tough - top to bottom. Going to be very exciting in the PNW for the next several years.

This is great news! Welcome to OSU, Sasha. You’ll find that Beaver Nation is largely knowledgeable and very loyal, and we really love our Women’s basketball team and each of it’s members. You will be well-loved by your team and coaches, extremely well-coached by this staff, and have the opportunity to play on a team at a high level in very meaningful scenarios. Can’t wait until you can sign and get on campus to start your journey. It will be a great ride. She sounds like a great talent and I love her comments about our program pursuing young women with a certain type of character. It can mean that you close the door on some great athletic talent from time to time, but the reward is team chemistry and a near assurance that there won’t be a problem with a “me first” approach, or the demise of the program from the internal drama (see the LaVonda era) IMO, the only time that our baseball program was threatened in that department during this sweet last couple of decades was a stretch shortly after our second national title, when we appeared to get a national recruiting vision that brought some good talent but there was a lack of unity, chemistry and we sort of seemed to forget the ethic and cultural dynamics that got us to that incredible level. I personally needed a boost like this. Baseball feels a bit disheveled with the poor stretch run and quick ouster from the tourney last weekend, and now the uncertainty about who will lead us next year. I’m not worried - I think that we have a strong, nationally-respected and sound program. We just need to get the leadership clearly resolved and give it a rest in that sport for a couple of months. Men’s basketball just tires me out. I can’t believe how hard it continues to be to get any real traction in the sport to provide encouragement that we’re really going to be back in the picture and stay relevant. Football was dealt an incredible blow 4 years ago and there just will be no quick fix in repairing the damage done by Captain Anderpants. Thank you Coach Rueck and women’s hoops program!

I too needed a boost in the off-season to re-affirm WBB still had its mojo.....especially since baseball is less of a "distraction" than I was hoping for. beavadelic, you are soooooo spot on with your comment of "Men’s basketball just tires me out". I cannot get my wife to agree to us getting MBB season tix for the life of me (note we are a mile from Gill, student season tix in the 80s were our dates and money is not the issue, so it's basically the fact that we come home from most games more irritated than happy). On the flip side, we are soooo looking forward to WBB! My wife interrupted my meeting (I work from home) the minute season ticket renewals were announced to make sure I was on it (I almost committed a marriage-limiting move by missing the NCAA ticket availability email to season ticket holders in March). The intrigue around AA and JM make it more interesting, not less......and now we have Sasha to look in on through her HS senior season, hopefully we add a couple more guards shortly! Go Beavers!

"...so it's basically the fact that we come home from most games more irritated than happy."
2ndGenBeaver pretty much nailed it. To me, even in victory, a lot of their wins seem stale, almost accidental.
It took me almost 10 years to let go of Men's basketball at OSU... I followed them faithfully for a long time, even a long time by the standards of this board - which has some real long time Beaver followers...
I don't want to say too much because it will sound more negative than I want it to. But I will say that when I discovered Coach Rueck and OSU WBB I was pretty much "Holy jumpin' up and down Martha." GO BEAVS !!

To look ahead a bit - it seems incredible, based on current information, that the 2021-2022 Beaver WBB squad will include (to name only a few):
RS Senior Taya Corosdale, Juniors Taylor Jones and Kennedy Brown, Sophomores Sasha Goforth and Savannah Samuel. And I'm leaving several 'out'!
Who would have dreamed just a few short years ago that recruiting would have advanced to this level?

The team she was playing against looked like a junior high team.but most of her games are pretty competitive
