Cultural differences might include their fan base yelling, "Soooiee!" repeatedly.

Curious if we had any other guests last week-end,or have any official visits scheduled for other recruits this month? Great time to have top prospects on campus...86 on Friday...84 on Saturday...

So far, there have been no other known official visitors. Hopefully we will get Caitlin Clark or Hailey Van Lith on campus sometime soon. Not even sure who else we are recruiting at this point...Dalayah Daniels?

Curious if we had any other guests last week-end,or have any official visits scheduled for other recruits this month? Great time to have top prospects on campus...86 on Friday...84 on Saturday... Sasha Goforth was reportedly the lone WBB recruit on campus last weekend, according to a source who has been consistently accurate with respect to OSU WBB recruiting issues. Bubba is the source on this message board who tends to know more about WBB recruiting visits sooner than others. I'm hopeful that he can keep us in the loop as he hears of upcoming official or unofficial visits that are in the pipeline. I am assuming that Bubba is a male.....

Normally, OSUWBB never has more than one uncommitted visitor on an official. I know Kemery Martin and Taylor Jones visited together last season. Kylee Griffen and Taya Corosdale visited together in 2019 with Jo Grymek as well.

We had the Wirth Twins in together a few years ago,and a wing from LaJolla California at the same time. Not always true...

Related but perhaps a bit of topic drift....
It seems like our strategy is to completely concentrate on very small numbers of recruits - I think it takes a lot of energy and time to *truly* build a multi-year relationship with our kind of high school recruits (and it seems to be paying off, if the rising quality in terms of incoming rankings/plaudits of recruits is any indication). Superficial relationships with transient coaching staffs is not our thing. And it even reflects when we have singleton visitors (has it just worked out that way, or do we want to focus on just one at a time?)
Do we guard our culture that fanatically? Are we just not willing to toss scholarship offers out there by the bushel? Exclusivity is a hallmark of cultural mystique (and quality).......I guess we have more than one recruiting cycle to replenish the back court, and perhaps Fall is when we will see real activity, but interesting how we seem to have a more "unique" singular approach to our recruiting.......some schools try to bundle the recruits to generate chemistry among them, it seems like we are trying to make sure the visitor fits the existing culture and illustrate that to the recruit one at a time.
Again - it may just have been Sasha's schedule driving the parameters of this visit, but I hold out hope Sasha just wanted to confirm that she had the right school in her sights, and hence her singular official visit beyond all of our OSU-focused potential explanations.
Go Beavers!

Ive been following this board for awhile, but just started posting here. Yes Bubba is a wealth of knowledge on the Goforth recruitment. Not all visitations get much buzz...especially the foreign prospects. Guliich and her visitation wasn't known like we know now. A friend saw her play open gym against Ruth on her visit, and told me she would be a great one.He was right.

As a rule, one does not use the qualifier "normally" to add weight to the word "never." Normally....🤓

Of course we don't want to have two prospects visiting at the same time at the same position, but if you want to build a further relationship with two elite players,it would be nice to have their schedules sync up and visit together. Good players like playing with other good players...

As far as cultural differences - I went to a baseball game there and I sat through the full 9 innings with my wife. I must have been pretty absorbed in the action because, at the games conclusion, I stood up to exit my row, and my wife says ' what the heck did you do to your shirt'? I asked her what she meant. She said my shirt had a dark brown stain down the middle. Her shirt was the same - but did not realize it. Well, lo and behold, apparently the moron behind us had been spitting out tobacco juice the entire game. Color me not impressed. The diet there is not exactly conducive to maintaining a trim figure because everything that tastes good has major butter content ( even normally healthy vegetables), and the deep fried thing has been taken to many, many levels of ridiculous. I believe the State motto is - If it ain't fried, it ain't food. There are some nice spots like anywhere, visually, but - the insects and the poisonous snakes kind of put a damper on that for me.

You would think that the stadium would at least have a no spitting section.

Just a few comments:
Mr. Goforth commented that SR made it clear how Sasha would fit in with the current players on the team as well as those coming in, and what he was expecting from those players. It would be great to have other players in for the visit as well, but this staff appears to make it a priority to throw their resources at a limited number of recruits.
The 'right' type of person is vitally important to who this team recruits. When Destiny and coach made first contact, he wanted to find out how she fit as a person as much as how she fit as a talent. He spoke with her, 'grilling her' as she has said, before inviting her out to visit.
I don't know if Bubba knows that much about Beaver recruiting or not. I hope he/she does, and keeps sharing with us, but I think Bubba said he knew some of Sasha's family (or friends of her family), and that is why he/she had inside info.
I think 2ndGenBeaver is right about the Beaver strategy. It certainly seems that the staff identifies a few players that fit, and diligently go after those few rather than the shotgun approach in throwing out offers all over the place. Even Sasha commented about how the Beavers only recruit a "certain type of player".
With a couple girls who I believe were on the Beavs "B" list already committing elsewhere, and knowing Van Lith and Clark are heavily recruited, I do get concerned they could come up empty on a point guard, but I don't worry about it too much, because of all the players that enter the transfer portal every year. Whether it's by transfer, or by a high School recruit, the Beavs will find a player that fits what they are looking for.
