I know JG had a solid game vs UCLA. That was then, and this is now. In yesterday's game, JG fumbled so many balls passed to her, and when she was fouled, couldn't hit her free throws. But the biggest liability is her defense (including defensive rebounding). MW was terrific on the boards yesterday, and was solid on offense. I'm happy to have JG on the floor for some minutes, just want Rueck to split the minutes more evenly between MW and JG in the Gonzaga game.

Yes, Katie isn’t a 4 and Taya isn’t a 5, but I think that playing them at those positions can be very tough for other teams to adjust to. Taya isn’t going to give you a lot of points going 1 on 1 in the post, but neither will Jo. Maddie has developed a nice turnaround jumper, but she is seldom used. Having 5 shooters is tough to guard, especially with players like Mik and Destiny who can really drive the ball. I really hope Aleah has rediscovered her touch!

At the beginning of the season I was hoping to see this line up as a way to get Kat on the floor. But having rarely seen this option throughout the year I'm not sure they have devoted enough practice time to make this a feasible game plan. I think the loss of Kat and shortly after Janessa going down really limited the options.

Taya already has a bit of a tendency to commit fouls. I think I'd leave her right where she is. It's a bit late in the game to have people switching positions, don't you think?
Bu, speaking of changing things up,we might as well have Destiny at midcourt to contest the opening tip. We haven't won one all year; might as well add a little comic relief to it - kind of like that old "Laugh-In" skit where Sammy Davis Jr. got in the boxing ring with Wilt Chamberlain.

Who will jump center next year for the opening tip? AA, PM, a frosh?

It appears to me that our best chance by far to win this game is for Destiny to get out of whatever funk she is in (or whatever funk the way Scott is coaching and utilizing her has put her in).
She has not scored well for several games and she has been our leading scorer all year.
Where 20 points was an average game for her, now about 6 points in the norm.
I do not know the answer to the problem, but the question "what in the h-- is going on with our most talented player?" is very clear.
I wish I had confidence that we might see the "real" Destiny tonight, but I do not.
