Another historical bit. 23 is a key number. 23 years since: we've had a 3X AA, a finalist, a Champion. Les has all of those honors.
Amar can be added to a short list of 3x AA's for the program*. Exclusive company:
Les Gutches Greg Strobel Jess Lewis
*Note this list doesn't include 4x AA's, but could: Larry Bielenberg Babak Mohamadi not sure if he have another one?

So sad to see none of the wrestlers in '11/'12/'13/'14 era catch fire and win. I really thought at least one had a shot

Off the top of my head, Bresser, Coleman, Colbray and I figured wittlake, but I'm not seeing him. I don't know the other 3.

Whittlake is in RS, not in the tournament. Berger-Nebraska, Mayley-Stanford Hwt came from Roseburg. I was thinking maybe a guy at the Service Academies but no dice.

Yes Wittlake is RS this year. The 6th from Oregon is Tanner Harvey - 184 for American U. Went to Lowell HS and then JC national champ for SW Oregon last year. Had a great season!
