Dramatic uptick in attendance since the arrival of the monster recruiting class and the team's success. Good for them. I have no idea if they offer promotions like we do, or let students in for free, or how they do it. Doesn't much matter, just as it doesn't matter how we put fannies in the seats. The only thing that matters is that those fannies are, indeed, in the seats, and we'll have plenty of them Monday night.
We're going to average way over 5,000 per game this year, which will be the highest in the Rueck years. And, we're going to do it again next year as well. Will the Ducks fare as well if Ionescu leaves? Who knows? Washington historically averaged about 2,000, but, in Kelsey Plum's senior year, it was 4,080. Kelsey left, and so did the additional 2,100 fans per game.
Our attendance is in the top 20 in the nation, and will be for the foreseeable future. That's pretty impressive in a small market like Corvallis. I'm all in favor of just focusing on the tremendous number of good things happening within our program. The school down the road? What happens there, happens.
