Late call... not horrible. Tons of body on one and if they weren't made vs our shooter there'd be crying.
17 to 7 at line... physical well played game. And a solid 43 pt half with 13 assists... only 3 total tos.... EVERYONE contributing... in 71-63 W

baseba1111, enough thrashing Destiny every game she has 12 of our 20 points and is doing so on efficient 6/9 shooting. Screw U If spouting fact as it happens vs 20/20 hindsight after she goes off is "thrashing"... you need an effing life frontrunner. Sure you're not a uck?! PS- she was yanked a coached up twice before her great run of drives. I hate when players get “yanked a coached up”. That’s the worst!

How bout the bounce back game for Maddie. 6 pts, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks. Helped hold Huff to 17 after she scored 38 against swoosh.

I thought we defended Huff pretty darn well. Sure, she had 17, but we held her below her average of 21.7, and we held her below her average for both FG% and 3FG%. She is a nice player. A lot of their offense runs through her because she is a very versatile post player. They had two bench players step up.
I am interested to see how they build off this season in the future. They lose Huff, Bean, and Porter, but have a strong freshman class and Kemery Martin on the way in 2019.
BTW - I have heard Dre’Una Edwards may be the frontrunner for Pac-12 FOY. Not sure if that is true or not. She had 4 pts. and 6 rebs. in limited action due to foul trouble.

Gylten (#44 on Utah) is very, very good. She was gorssly underranked coming out of HS (that is what South Dakota gets you). Pretty sure we recruited her. She played at a tiny high school, against marginal opponents (small-school SD basketball). Had she played at Central or Stevens (like Becky Hammon) probably would have received more recruiting interest. She did do well in all the AAU, national team, Nike camps, etc. Like Goodman, she's a far better player than it looks like she should be, and it's no surprise we recruited her, she's a good team player and our staff recognizes talent that others may not appreciate, ie Goodman. She certainly would help us if she played here, but no way would she see as much PT as she does now. With Gylten and Grymek on the floor, that might be the first game in Gill with two players with G and Y in the first three letters of their last name, and four consonants before a vowel! I think Utah played just about as well as it could have played today, but it wasn't enough. Just like Friday, the longer the game went, the more it got exposed. Huff will be a big loss for them next year.

Beavs should be #7 in the next poll. I think you are right. North Carolina State lost today for the first time, and they have yet to play a ranked opponent. They may lose several games in the next 2-3 weeks. Stanford will probably drop just below the Beavs as number 8, after the loss at Cal. I'm guessing: 1. Baylor 2. Louisville (beat UCONN, so they will push Baylor for number 1) 3. Oregon (may be a push with UCONN, but UCONN did lose a game) 4. UCONN 5. Notre Dame 6. Mississippi State 7. Oregon State 8. Stanford 9. North Carolina State 10. Marquette

We should be 10-0 in the Pac-12. The Bay trip is going to be pivotal. Cal has been really, really up and down, but we need to win that. Keeping Anigwe off the glass will be uber important. Stanford game should be fun. They are fairly similar to Utah, a little more athletic and shoots it a little better. 2-0 here would give cushion.

3 turnovers for the game. A season low. That definitely helped.

They are very talented and as well coached as we are. Rueck is such a stud coach! Utah worried me but the Lady Beavs took care of business. Sure would like to get at least a split with the Ducks. Go Beavs!!
