Jo with her first assists of the year on a kickout pass to Destiny, who buries a three-ball.
Jo is the most improved player on this team over the course of this season. That three-block sequence was incredible and she's become a decent FT shooter. She's never gonna be a star but she is producing at a much-higher level than I thought possible two months ago.

First assist. Right on! A sign that she’s getting the ball low and spotting open perimeter player now. Progress.

71% from 3. Not too shabby.

No Maddie Washington tonight. She is out with a health issue. Aleah will be getting her first starting nod in her OSU career! Very exciting for her! I noticed that at Gill. She was not there at all that I noticed. Did anyone say anything about Aquino? She wasn't anywhere to be seen tonight that I could see? Hoping for the best but it was strange not seeing either of them. Thropay and Tudor were with the team tonight.

AA was dressed down, went through warm-ups, and looked particularly chipper today. I half-expected her to dunk a ball in the shoot-around, but she just laid it in from about 3 inches away instead.

Last night's lineup of "4 point guards" and Taya was intriguing. Certainly got the job done. But you're just not going to shoot 71% from the 3 line every night.

The game was relatively played 3 on 5 (2 on 5 for most of the night). The trio of Hollingshed, Robinson, and Caylao-Do took 65% of their shots (44-68) and scored 83% (54 of 65) of CU’s points. Caylao-Do didn’t really get going until the 4Q when Robinson and Hollingshed were on the bench which is why I mentioned 2 on 5. They sorely miss Kennedy Leonard - I hope she returns soon.
Slocum and Goodman led the charge for the Beavs, scoring 26 and 25 points, but did so with great efficiency which is very encouraging to see from two guards. Pivec seemed to guard the 6’4” Hollingshed at times which was fun to watch!
In other words, a great win especially given the we had 8 active players, including two freshmen who don’t see a lot of big minutes. Trish is coming along slowly, but looked better than previously tonight. Jazz still looks very timid on offense. Rarely looks at the hoop or tries to beat her defender to the hoop. She is more raw than I had expected on both sides of the floor, but loads of potential and a big freshman to sophomore leap are two things she certainly has going for her.

And scored 40 pts in the paint, 28 of them by players not named Jo. Looked like they could drive to the hoop anytime they wanted.

Was unable to catch game in person or streaming.
Any observations on why TC, who has become a rebounding machine, only grabbed 1 board last night, despite starting at the “5”. Just the way the ball was bouncing, or what?

Two reasons. First, Taya's main job was blocking out the opposing big to let the guards "clean up" the boards. Second, Colorado took most of their shots at range, leading to longer rebounds. Key stat: Colorado's bigs only had 3 offensive rebounds - not too bad considering how many shots they missed. The team had 10 overall, which tells you how many long rebounds were up for grabs.
