I know it is probably not factual, but it sure seems like every time a Beaver Athlete has a situation come up where an eligibility issue (transfer, redshirt year for medical purposes, etc) arises, the NCAA always seems to screw us over. Somehow this seldom seems to happen to the "fat cats" of the NCAA world. Also of course, we know how great the wonderful PAC 12 conference leaders handle things. Of course, the Kat Tudor situation comes out that she is not eligible for an additional year. I would have expected nothing else from the NCAA.

I think there is a good chance Jazz steps up. She does a lot of things exceptionally well for a freshman. She would definitely be seeing more minutes if this wasn’t possibly the deepest team in terms of guard/wings in OSU history. Her offense is still a work in progress, but she is starting to look more and more comfortable each game. I'm extremely high on Jasmine Simmons. This kid has physical skills, and, seems to have a level head out on the court. I cannot believe how quickly she breaks down the court after one of our defensive rebounders snag the ball. There have been numerous times we had an easy lay in had her teammates just looked up court. Of course, there have been the occasion when they did see Jas, and we did get an easy lay up. But, I think Jasmine's defense is what the OSU Beavers needs most on the perimeter. Kat has turned into a defensive monster, and defensive rebounding monster. Of course we will miss Kat's 3-point instant offense, but we will also miss Kat's defense. I have seen Jas' defensive abilities come through on numerous occasions already. Jas is also a strong rebounding wing. Jasmine is going to be a gem, and in some ways Kat's misfortune will be an opportunity to bring Jas along quicker.

This tweet came from a UO fan:
“WBB: Not @oregonwbb related but @beaverwbb suffers a huge loss as Kat Tudor is done for the season — per OSU head coach Scott Rueck. That’s a massive loss for the Beavers, equivalent to Oregon losing Ionescu #GoDucks #Pac12WBB”
Clearly they think very, very highly of Kat down there. They know every little bit of what she can do after she dropped 34 on them last year.

Kat will be a big loss, and I'm going to miss seeing her on the court. The nice thing about recent games before the injury was the way Kat, Aleah, and Jo would come in and provide a real spark and scoring.
I expect what we saw against Washington will be how the lineup plays out in the next few games. The starters will play more minutes, in particular Katie and Destiny. Aleah's minutes will most likely increase as well. I think Jasmine will probably get an early shot each game, and how much she plays will depend on how she well is playing in the flow of that game. I can see games where she doesn't get many minutes, and others where she may play extended minutes.

Jas had a rough night on Thursday vs WSU. 3 minutes as the Cougs abused her on the pick & roll. They clearly tested her. 3 trips down court and 3 baskets where the G(?)made her look silly during their run to get back in the game. Rueck took her out to prevent more damage. I think HCSR will use it as a learning experience. She played more mins vs UW and did better. I think it was just a situational thing w/the Cougs

Looking forward to see how her game develops.

Jasmine really isn't slight of build. She is less experienced at fighting through a collegiate screen, but getting better. Take a closer look at Jasmine's physique, she is pretty sturdy. Strong lower half, and doesn't have wimpy arms. I remember Kat Tudor as a freshman, and she was not very strong, and got pushed around a ton. Now Kat does the pushing around (or at least she did

Well from the looks of it, she is very fit which should indicate added strength for her size and weight.
