beaverwbb fan - - thanks for posting interesting recruiting info that most of us have no knowledge of..... It also reminds us what a never ending grind recruiting is in today's WBB world....I keep waiting for the Beavs to recruit an Oregon player, but it's been a while. Any on the horizon? GO BEAVS!!

The only confirmed 2022 offer currently out is for Lily Hansford, the 6-2 sharpshooter from Wisconsin. It is likely safe to assume that Timea Gardiner and Raegan Beers hold offers, and likely Lauren Betts also held one before cutting OSU. There is also a strong possibility Mara Braun has one, and maybe even Carleigh Wenzel. Compare this to Oregon, who has at least seven confirmed offers (Basham, Isai, Vanslooten, Nnaji, Chance Gray, Ayanna Patterson, Tonie Morgan), plus likely offers to Gardiner and Betts, and possibly Braun (as well as five confirmed 2023 offers), and OSU's approach appears very conservative. I would expect a Vanslooten offer in the near future though. Are we leading for Beers? I don’t know why, but I have the same strong feeling that I had with Kennedy with Beers.

Well, it’s really hard to tell because she doesn’t have social media, but the single thing people do know about her recruitment is the unofficial she took to OSU - which is why I also get the sense that we may lead for her. I think that the fact that we haven’t offered Vanslooten or Basham could mean they like where they stand with Beers and Gardiner. I definitely get the same feeling I got with Taylor and Kennedy though.

All three assistant coaches now follow Ashlon Jackson on twitter. Since she announced that she had cut her list (without giving any other info), Katie and Jonas started to follow her, so there is a good chance OSU made the cut.

beaverwbb, any updates on Ashon Jackson #22? None. I could have included her, but I think she is probably a long shot. A lot of people seem to think that it'll be either UConn or Baylor, likely Baylor. Prior to the NCAA giving everyone an additional year, we were at what would be 10 active scholarship players [excluding Andrea], plus one walk-on in Noelle. I think ideally 2022 is a four-player class, maybe five. The clear top target is Timea Gardiner. She has already visited Corvallis twice [in seventh and eighth grade], so hopefully she will take an official sometime after the 20-21 season ends, preferably at a time when Talia and Greta are on campus. Stanford, UCLA (where her AAU coach, Natalie Williams, will push her), Oregon, Arizona State, Notre Dame, and Louisville appear to be the main other teams in play. I think OSU not offering Grace Vanslooten, Maya Nnaji, Shay Bollin, Kennedy Basham, and no longer being in play for Betts could be beneficial here. Shows her that she is top target and it allows OSU to give her a ton of interest [also beneficial that we're about 1/2 way done with this class]. Hansford also of course has an offer. I really, really like Braun. She's another skilled, 6-0 guard, also a track-star. Not sure if she is offered or not.

I have no idea how to check but I would think that if Noelle is still on the team she would have proven her worth and get a scholarship.
The next few years are going to be very interesting with the granting of an additional year.

Don't know anything about the particulars of Noelle's family. But, she's in-state and some families pay their kid's tuition to save the U. scholarship money -- as their way of contributing to the program.... No idea if this is her situation or not.....
From a recruiting point of view, two of the best 2022 recruits the Beavs have landed in a long time just might be Aleah Goodman and Taya Corosdale. GO BEAVS!!

www.espn.com/womens-college-basketball/story/_/id/30061935/the-top-women-college-basketball-prospects-classes-2022-23-244. W Timea Gardiner Fremont High School (Utah) What makes Gardiner stand out is the poise she has displayed ever since she was a young player competing against people 3-5 years older. She plays within herself, which keeps her from playing too fast, and at 6-3 she rarely gets physically overmatched. Gardiner is a confident ball handler who can control elements of the offense with her decision making and strong fundamentals. She has always battled on the boards and picks up defensive schemes very well. She is immensely talented with a true jumper, and her potential to play at a high level for years to come is evident. Stanford, Notre Dame, Arizona State, Oregon, Oregon State and UCLA are the finalists for her recruitment.

Good to hear the Beavs make the final 6. It looks like the chances of her ending up in the Pac12 are very high, with only Notre Dame outside the Pac12 in her final 6.
It was also good to see the KF started following Ysabella Fontleroy on twitter. Ysabella is the number 12 player in the 2022 class. Her and Timea follow each other on twitter, and BH had already been following Yasbella. So far, Yasbella does not seem to be following the Beaver coaches, so we'll see if anything develops there.
As for Timea, the Beavs have shown interest in her for long time and the interest is obviously mutual. The other 5 schools will be tough to beat though. The Pac12 is looking to get stronger all the time, with seven teams in particular flexing some recruiting muscle in recent years.

This is where the extra year starts to come into play for so many schools, including Oregon State. We have 3 true freshmen this year (Sasha, Savannah, and Ana), with 2 scheduled for next year (Greta and Talia). So, in 2022, we'll have 5 players on the roster who would be the equivalent of normal sophomores, with 3 years of eligibility left. We already have 2 committed for 2022 (Adlee and Raegan), which brings up to 7 between the 2 'classes.'
Since Scott doesn't normally use all 15 scholarships, he'd still be balanced if he added another 1, or even 2, for 2021 or 2022. If he added 2, he'd still have room for 3 each in 2023 and 2024. So he's got plenty of wiggle room.
The ducks, on the other hand, have 5 true freshmen and 1 (that I know of) commitment for 2021. If they were to add 2 more for next year, to reach a normal incoming class of 3, they'd have 8 players starting 2022 with 3 years left. Absent attrition, that puts a squeeze on them for several years.
