How would you match teams up?
Vegas Bowl: Boise St vs sdtr
Rose: UW vs tOSU
Alamo: WSU vs aTm/UT
Sugar: UCF vs Georgia
Fiesta: Michigan vs Florida
W. Virginia vs Penn State
Utah vs LSU
Fresno St. vs Iowa St (Beaver QB transfer Bowl)

Other than the 4 teams in the tournament, there is not a single bowl game I'm excited about. When OSU plays in one, I'll watch that.
Looking forward to them expanding the tourney to 8 teams

Hmmmm... honestly as Czar I don't give flying eff as I'm collecting huge under the table $$ plus salary to do absolutely nothing but attend hosted parties and dinners.

Looking forward to them expanding the tourney to 8 teams Would have enjoyed an 8 team playoff this season.. Say it's the P5 winners + 3 at large? 1 Alabama 8 Washington 4 Oklahoma 5 Georgia 2 Clemson 7 UCF 3 Notre Dame 6 Ohio State UW gets throttled, but everything else is compelling enough for me to tune in for a bit. UCF gets their shot at the big boys, I'm not sure I ever remember ND and tOSU playing in recent years? The conf championship games meant very little this weekend anyways. Sign me up.

But it means everything with an 8 team tourney where the conference champion is an automatic qualifier. If that means NW and Utah sneak in, so be it, the regular season does mean something.
I'd give the NonP5 an automatic bid so long as the team is ranked in say the top 12, then 2 WCs. Make the rules harder for Indy's to force them in a conference, like ranked in top 5 for auto bid.

UCF gets their shot at LSU as is. Are they not “big boys”? Maybe Georgia would have been more fitting but I’m sure the committee couldn’t resist a matchup with Texas for them.

Looking forward to them expanding the tourney to 8 teams Four's not enough. Eight is too many. How about six? Ohio State at Notre Dame and Georgia at Oklahoma. Higher seed plays Alabama in the Orange Bowl. Lower seed plays Clemson in the Cotton Bowl. Fin. No need for Eight. The Cotton Bowl is Clemson v. Notre Dame. Go Domers! Love 'em or hate 'em, you watch 'em. The Rose Bowl is really the Rose Bowl. Always excited about that. Northwestern v. Utah in the almost Rose Bowl. Both teams lost championship games to fall to San Diego. Should be a good game, even if Utah's coaching staff has 1-2 questionable characters. Marcus McM playing against Arizona State in the Las Vegas Bowl. That's hard to beat. Kyle Kempt may play against Washington State in the Alamo Bowl. Almost as good. Minnesota v. Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl. Paul Johnson is retiring, which means that Georgia Tech could be great soon. Two of my favorite teams. I like the Gophers, and who can't quote at least a stanza or two of Georgia Tech's fight song? Houston v. Army. Always fun to watch the service teams. Unless you hate America. Miami v. Wisconsin in the Pinstripe. Two good teams that wound up in the new Gotham Bowl. It should be entertaining. Toledo v. Florida International in the Bahamas Bowl. Butch Davis is coaching Florida International, which is generally an entertaining team. The games in the Bahamas tend to be pretty surreal.

I’d give the yucks a one-way ticket, on a Greyhound, to the redneck bowl...

Two teams going into the semis play an extra game? In football that is crazy talk. Yep... two better/ higher seeded teams get to rest while their opponents thrash each other.

I’d give the yucks a one-way ticket, on a Greyhound, to the redneck bowl... I've heard that's what other states do with their undesirables/homeless. One way tickets to Oregon.
Iowa State has been a good program the last few years and will be a good opponent in a bowl game. That being said, WSU did get the short end of the stick in the regular season and also in being passed over by teams with less wins for bigger name bowls and opponents.
The USC loss this year marks the second obvious time I've witnessed our conference intentionally take action in a game to prevent WSU from winning it on the field. This concerns me as a Beaver fan considering, like it or not, we have more similarities with WSU when it comes to football clout in this conference than most teams.

Thumbs up except the 6 team thingy. 4 is enough, no matter what Dick Van Patton says.
