Coach Rueck was a guest speaker at the chamber luncheon a week or two ago that my wife attended. She was thoroughly impressed with him,and he stated he has passed on recruiting higher talented players because they weren't the right fit. It's very important to him and the success of this program. She understands how Coach Rueck can be such a great closer and recruiter because he has "IT". So relatable and a genuine person. That is how we can sign the great prospects like Goforth,Jones, etc from all across the country. Sorry...it's not a 2021 related story,but... Great story and thanks for sharing. Aside from finding the right fit, it creates a certain desirability of an OSU offer as recruits will know these aren't handed out to anyone. We've come along way from holding open tryouts to where we are now. :-) My neighbors daughter attended the open tryout...amazing how far a true elite coach like Scott can take our program. Amazing story from the basement to one of the elites in the country.

Saw this tweet earlier... When Prep Girls Hoops Kansas asked who was the best "high school girls basketball player athlete you've seen", Danika Brown said "Payton Verhulst". I really didn't expect her to say Kennedy, but Danika is definitely high on the abilities of Payton....and Danika knows her basketball.

Danika does know her basketball, and she is doing everything she can to get Payton to Corvallis.

She is like the antithesis of Westbrook's mom. All positive and doing everything she can to make sure her daughter has a great experience. Like I said before, she is a great unofficial recruiter.

Will be interesting to see if the Beavs offer Sonia Citron, who picked up Oregon and Stanford offers over the last two days.

Beaver recruiting is always so quiet. We don't hear about nearly as many offers as we do with a lot of programs. Thanks for staying on top of recruiting beaverwbb fan.

Quiet is good for program and coaches - for fans, not so much ! The recruiting game can be quite 'vicious',. Giving away any meaningful information is going to just put the whole situation into an entirely risky area. Probably riskier than any other D1 sport because one player can have such an impact.

Jersey Wolfenbarger's recruiting is really blowing up, so it will be interesting to see if the Beavs offer her soon (we'll probably know when because the AR Banshees tweet every offer). She's added UW, ASU, and USC offers this week. Very talented 6'2" CG.

Saylor Poffenbarger chooses UConn, which puts my dream of Saylor Poffenbarger and Jersey Wolfenbarger playing for the Beavs at the same time in grave jeopardy.

UConn is loading up on guards/wings for '19, '20 and '21. Maybe OSU can trade a post player for one of those guards.
