I guess I shouldn't be, but I'm always surprised when I hear someone commit to Louisville WBB. I see some posters saying "it's a perfect fit", but I don't see it.
I hope it works out well for her.
Hopefully good news is yet to come.

Fingers crossed for the other two big targets.

I admit I find Payton's decision a little baffling. Her trainer listed her as a PG and there is this person HVL who is a year ahead of her.......

Oh well, big loss. I wish her well. Her final three were Oregon, Oregon State, and Louisville. Maybe playing closer to home was a part of her decision. Time to move on.

I personally feel her skills are better maximized off the ball, because she scores so well, and I think she could be a very nice complement to Van Lith. They’ll have three guards in 2020, one in 2019, and four in 2018 when Payton arrives, so she will have her fair share of competition for a spot. I think Louisville as the choice surprised a lot of people.

I just look at these types of decisions as , really , having been a done deal a long time ago . I mean, if I lived in Kentucky ( I know she is from Kansas ) , I would be getting out of there after one single day. Feel the same about Nebraska . So, I am saying, that she ( for some unknown reason ), prefers Kentucky as a place to go to school , over either school in Oregon. Well , to each her own - but, there has to be something else that is attracting her . Maybe it's the Kentucky Derby? I get that they may have a pretty good wbb program - but, now the focus has shifted to the West Coast !

Maybe she really wants to play with Van Lith to form a dynamic backcourt combo.

That could be the case . That would be a good combo - but , seems like also some negative competition if one excels over the other - van lite could get the Sabrina treatment and payton could get the 'what the heck happened to her ' collar ! Or vice versa !

Does the obsession with Ionescu really need to be dragged into this thread as well? Let it go!

Well, two of the big four Beaver recruits are now off the board. One to Oregon State, and One to Louisville. Amazingly neither chose Stanford, nor any other Pac12 team. For me, that's a good start.
I hope the Beavs crank up the recruiting of Breanne Salenbien. It may be a bit late, especially with the way there seems to be a current rush at committing. Bre isn't rated nearly as high as the other girls (way down there at 31), but she is the type of person that the Beavs generally recruit.
Whatever the case, I'm confident we will be hearing a lot more names the Beavs will look at, though a number of them may be transfers.

One recent 2021 recruit to pop up on Beaver radar is Kimora Jenkins from New York. Haven't followed her close enough to see if she has any Power 5 offers yet, but here's a video of her favorite buckets from last year if you want to watch.

Kimora Jenkins favorite assist from last year:
Kimora is 6'1". She's played a little bit of every position, including point. Other schools interested include Georgia, Michigan, and West Virginia among others. Georgia has offered, but I'm not sure about the others. She appears to be a rising star that would have attracted a lot of attention on the AAU circuit this summer. All that said, New York is a LONG way from Corvallis.

That's one of the very best features of Corvallis - it is, indeed, a LONG way from New York.

BH and Txell Alarcon, a 5'11 PG from Sant Adria Spain have started following each other on twitter. Txell was a starter for Spain' U16 team last year.
She appears to be a 2021 recruit who has garnered interest from other majors in the US. Just a name to keep an eye on.

I'm guessing Shell or Shay.
