Jersey Wolfenbarger is now listed as a 6'4" tall PG, SG or combo guard on many reputable sites, such as maxpreps. Yikes! a 6'4" point guard...that height is comparable to Magic Johnson on the men's side.
I don't know what OSU's chances are in getting her. She has offers from practically all the top programs in the country.

I think our best shot is with Talia personally. I think we have a shot at Payton, but I also think she goes to UO/ND/Louisville, all with higher power offenses.

beaverwbb fab - - Isn't Payton close with Kennedy Brown?? Or, is that really much of an issue.... I'm watching all this from afar, and I don't know much more than what I read, but I kinda had it in my head that the Beavs were a front runner for Payton....
Shifting gears: has Kennedy made it clear to anyone that she is truly going to return to Corvallis next year? Just curious. Rehabbing for a whole year half way across the country might not be what she has in mind.... On the other hand, if she is rehabbing OSU might be her best location because of the facilities and the personnel to help her along the way to recovery.... GO BEAVS !!

Just an honest question, "is the shine on the program getting a little tarnish on it"? Seems like all I'm reading is how player x,y,z, is now headed somewhere else, usually to a program that WAS considered behind OSU 2 years ago, to now getting the better of the recruits?? Seems to be having a hard time closing the deal, what is the problem?? We keep talking about a having a "shot with x,y,z," and then they're gone, usually/often to one of our conference enemies!!!

Since 2016/2017 classes, it doesn't seem to me like we've lost much to UO. I believe we did recruit Paopao last year, but after two knee injuries, I don't think she was a top priority compared to Van Lith, Clark, and Goforth. I do not believe we highly recruited Scherr, Parrish, or either of the two bigs. Goforth and Kampschroeder were not highly recruited by UO. Both Wolfenbarger and Verhulst have UO and OSU offers, so those could be big pending decisions.

Can you consider "the shine on the program getting a little tarnish on it" when the program has landed it's highest rated recruits these past 3 years now (I'm including Greta this year). Despite the success on the court in earlier years, the Beavs had not landed the likes of Kennedy, Taylor, Sasha, and Greta.....or been in on players like Van Lith, Bueckers, Clark, Wolfenbarger, Verhulst, and Talia. If the Beavs land one of the big three that we've been talking about, it would be a very good class (though for depth purposes, a couple more recruits would be ideal in this class).
As far who is the better player, and who is better for the Beavs among Greta, Talia, Payton, and Jersey, you are talking about the number 8, 10, 12, and 19th ranked players respectively (ESPN). Do you really think there is a big difference between the #8 and the #12 or #19 for that matter? I think it is a little funny we try to distinguish between say #30 and #50 ranked players as if someone was sure one was better than the other. Kennedy Brown was ranked 19th by ESPN, but #100 by Prospect Nation. Which one was right? Truth is, she was probably somewhere in between.
With oregon's top ranked class last year, we'll find out soon if they all were among the best, or if some were over ranked.
I think Jersey is going to be the best of the group we are recruiting. I think her height, ball skills, and most importantly of all, her determination and work ethic will lead her to become a superstar. Not that the other three won't, because they may too. I just know Jersey has shown the 'drive' to become great, and I don't know enough about the other 3 yet, other than the fact they are all great players, and it does take drive to become great.
Someone mentioned the relationship between Kennedy and Payton. I'm not sure that they are great friends, but their families both know each other, and they have all talked about schools, coaches, etc. I know Danika (Kennedy's Mom) has certainly expressed her hopes that Payton would go to Oregon State, and every indication is that the Verhulst family respects Danika and the Brown family. We can only hope that helps with the recruitment of Payton.
We did lose Jaz Shelly to the ducks, We did recruit Paopao, although she didn't appear to be a top target of the Beavs last recruiting cycle (that may have been a mistake), but let's remember, the Beavs did win in the battle to land Kennedy Brown.

All great thoughts. Jersey definitely does appear to be in the 6-3/6-4 range now. With her size, skills, athleticism, and shooting ability, she may draw comparisons to Satou as a 6-4 that can legit play multiple positions, though Jersey may have better guard skills since she was always a guard, while Satou is likely better on the inside. Her ceiling is incredibly high, and there is a ton of potential. There would be some definite overlap in skill sets among Greta, Savannah, Sasha, and Payton, though Payton is so talented that you let those issues work themselves out if she would choose OSU. OSU offers significantly more playing time than Louisville, UO, or ND.

Payton hasn't posted it yet. But various people are congratulating her on her choice.
Down to Talia and Jersey now. Cross your fingers.
