This is a week late from Veteran's Day but just heard this story on the podcast and if you love OSU you should listen/read. Story revolves around 2 players from the 1942 OSU v Duke Rose Bowl that find themselves on the battlefields during WW2. www.wbur.org/onlyagame/2017/11/10/1942-rose-bowl-world-war-ii-brian-curtisIt's Only a Game is a weekly, 1 hour sports podcast available via subscription on various podcasting services. It's in my weekly rotation and always worth a listen. Even when they talk about sports I don't follow, they have great stories and commentary.

Thanks for posting this Glove. Great Story. I so much appreciated this quote from the story - "Haynes was the beneficiary of Parker’s exceptional courage, and Parker was a hero. “Hero” is a word too often applied to football players and other athletes who save nobody."
I think sometimes we need to re-evaluate what the term "hero" really means. Who exactly did you "save" to become a "hero"?

Watched Duke vs Southern tonight at Cameron. Was in the book store earlier and they had clearance t-shirts for bowls (Pinstripe, Sun, Chick-fil-a) but none for the 1942 Rose Bowl game. Disappointed. Tomorrow will go the to NCSU at Wake Forest football game and on the way am planning to stop at the UNC book store. My ultimate dream is to find a back-to-back college world series runner-up shirt. Will settle for a UNC Baseball shirt simply to mock them.

And of course Lil TB was learning to drive on the freeway and around trucks. We did a one & done at Omaha. But...Beaver gear was cheap the next day
