I'm curious why you are negative on Fleck. I think the "row the boat" thing can be hokey, but I'm not sure what else you could say poorly about him. Per Phil Steele he had the MAC's #1 recruiting class in '14, '15, and '16 (2013 was his first season). They don't have a gimmick offense. This may be the best MAC team in my memory. NIU had a couple of good teams but I think those were based mostly on Jordan Lynch. Fleck's personal life may be a bit of a mess, but you could probably say that about a lot of head coaches. I was surprised he was not hired at Purdue, but maybe he turned that down because of divorce and three small kids? I wouldn't call Harsin a clown, but he is clearly a step down from Peterson. Obviously this is rumor town, so take it with a complete grain of salt, but people one /r/cfb were saying Fleck had an affair with a booster's wife and THAT is what cooled off his rise. not just a divorce per se, but they why he is getting a divorce. I'm pretty sure he's remarried. When they did the special on him from Gameday in Kalamazoo they not only showed them putting up their christmas tree in their house, he referenced himself as a great husband....looking straight into the camera!
