Has anyone successfully purchased tickets for the Regionals in Portland commencing March 29?
The Moda website indicates vast sections of the arena has "no seats for sale." And the good seats that are for sale are very pricey. I find all this hard to believe.
The odds are good there will be no Northwest Team in the Regionals. Where will the fans come from?
When the Regionals were held in Spokane they never sold out and good tickets went for $35.
Anyone have insight into the ticket situation? Or information they are willing to share? Thanks... GO BEAVS!!

No buying insights, but quite different than previous times we've made it to the sweet 16/Elite 8 round, there are only 2 regional sites this year. So 8 teams head to Portland, 8 teams to Albany NY.

I see o and OSU are co-hosting the Portland site. Isn't there a rule teams can't play at sites they "host"?

Why only two regional sites? Probably to save on TV production costs .I'm guessing here, but it's certainly not anything that benefits the student-athletes.

I got this info from my contact in the OSU Ticket Office:
Jeff,
Tickets for NCAA regionals (if we advance) would likely be sold through our ticket office and beavertickets.com, with priority going to those who are season ticket holders first. We will have more information as we get closer to and go through the postseason.
Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for the info, Jeff.....
I have family in Portland and they will support the Regionals no matter what teams are playing.... So, I was thinking about buying tickets early for them, in case demand, for some reason, took off.
However, the Moda seating chart indicates ALL the good seats at "not available." The idea that they have already been sold to basketball fans strikes me as ridiculous and unbelievable.
So, really, I was curious if someone had ideas about who buys these tickets - why goods seats are not available - etc. etc....
I guess one practical question would be to ask the Beaver Ticket Office how many tickets OSU would actually receive if they earned their way to the Regionals...That would at least provide some info about the number of tix set aside for participating teams....Thanks....
[As an aside, when Oregon played Miss. State in the Regionals in Portland in March of 2019 - mid court seats (not in nose-bleed section) were readily available to the public and sold for about $25 each].... GO BEAVS!!!!

I think what often happens is that third parties buy up tickets (e.g. Ticketmaster) and sell them at higher prices (at least when you add in their “handling fees”). That’s what happened to me last time I bought tickets for a Beaver football game in Portland. So, if you don’t mind the higher prices, check them out.

The last year the Regionals were held in Portland was 2020. I was offered seats in October of 2019 well ahead of March. I bought tickets immediately and then got my money back in March or April because the games were cancelled because of COVID. This year I did not hear squat from the OSU ticket office and was actually caught off guard when I recently found out from your post that OSU was hosting again this year. One difference is the u of o is co-hosting this year which it did not do in 2020. I had no idea the OSU was hosting and I was not offered a pre-sale this year like I was in 2019-2020. So what I am seeing is exactly what you are seeing.........outageous jacked up prices by those #&@$&% resellers. Ugh!

The NCAA doesn't even allow the bulk of the tix to be sold at this time. Thousands are reserved for corporate sponsors, insiders, etc. Plus there are 8 teams so team allotments have to be saved until those are known.
More public tix will be released, but prices are always higher on the secondary this far in advance of a major event. But, again there will also be 8 sets of fans vying for tickets so don't expect too many cheap tix.

I know nothing about this, but is it possible that many of the 'not available' seats are designated as such right now because they are blocked off for the host and participating schools?

I purchased tickets for all sessions. We are in the 100-section corner. Not too bad on price. I received my email to download them yesterday.

Would you please share either the link or phone number where you successfully purchased the tickets? I just called the OSU Ticket Office, and they were of no help.
