Harbaugh can recruit, he attracts great Assistant Coaches, his teams are disciplined (look at the penalties), he is extremely organized, his players are motivated, he fosters a great TEAM culture.
Most of all, his teams execute. That is the mark of good coaching. In the twilight of his career he played for Mike Riley and the SD Chargers. Riley called him an offensive genius and tried to bring him back to OSU as an assistant. Riley said he was incredible in the locker room - leadership!
If Harbaugh was not so adamant about controlling his roster, the draft, free agency and contracts, there would be a dozen NFL teams in pursuit right now. He learned that lesson with the 49ers as did Dennis Erickson.
I watched a lot of film on Stanford's 2010 line play under Harbaugh and OL coach Ed Roman. They executed line play like an NFL team - physical and with precision.
Where he coaches is irrelevant, I'm a Beaver fan but I like to think I recognize good coaching when I see it.

Jim H. coaches at a scumbag school. Dude's a scumbag. He produces scumbags that scumbags enjoy watching. Jim H. sucks. His players suck. And his fans suck. But you have successfully hijacked the thread, so I congratulate you on that.
