If Tongue were for sure healthy, I’d put him in front of Miller. Goodman and Foster have potential. Speaking of Tongue.. anyone else tired of these games? WR? LB? Come on! Get healthy, change your number to 25 and move to Safety! Let’s go! Only half joking… I really want to see him take a shot at playing safety though he obviously hasn’t shown interest in it. Moving tongue to safety could be a really good move. He probably wants to see this linebacker thing through now that two starting spots are available. If he’s healthy he could be a potential starter next year and will definitely play regardless.

Tongue might not even play next year. His injuries were significant... 12 months+... ket alone trying to play a more mobile position. He tore the ACL and MCL, patella tendon, and meniscus. It could take as much as 18 months to completely recover.

It's amazing to me how some guys virtually never recover from something like this, and some guys like Willis McGahee get ready in an unbelievably short period of time. I've torn my ACL twice on my left knee and tore the meniscus in a separate injury that left me locked up until I got surgery. Daughter just had ACL surgery. Knee surgeries suck.

Several myself, some major, some minor. Funny the worst by far was in 1978-79 while at SC, MCL torn cleanly off both bones, stapled, and in a cast forever, with rigorous rehab. It has given me zero issues since, unless I catch the inside of my left foot on something solid, then I feel a painful pull. Some of the "minor" arthroscopies were shorter recovery, but just as painful. Good news they've all been very successful, and no signs of any knee arthritis and hikes, golf, etc cause no issues. Knock on wood!

It helps when you have a great surgeon and all the rehab resources in the world. Peterson had an amazing recovery from his knee surgery and ran for 2000 yards the next year.

I mean, hell, all I ever did was tear my meniscus and I can legitimately say it affected me for a year and this was when i was still in my early 20s. I am also not a D-1 athlete that was not going to rehab every day, but still. We take these recovery times for granted. it takes real work.

Truer words have never been spoken. I've been fortunate to have good outcomes on everything except my foot surgeries after my motorcycle crash. I've got a kid who is hoping to get a full ride scholarship so we were extremely careful about selecting her surgeon and rehab. I've also modeled good behavior for the rehab process as well.
