How does 8-5 sit with you all now? Lots of hurdles this year, especially late...hurdles and someone tripping us when we tried to clear the hurdles Anyone who doesn't consider 8-5 a good season has not been a Beaver fan very long. I have been alive for 43 Oregon State seasons. The median season in that time was the 4-6-1 1988 season. 21 "good" seasons and 21 "bad" seasons. Of the 21 "good" seasons, the 7-5 2004 season is the median "good" season. 10 "great" seasons and 10 above average seasons with the 2004 season in between. 10 greatest seasons in my lifetime, and the 10 greatest seasons in the lifetime of everyone under the age of 55: 2000, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, 2022, and 2023. Great season. Undoubtedly the worst end to a great season in the past 55 years. But still a great season.

The season is, as the season ends: 3 game losing streak....with a combined 93-35 score. Can't sugar coat it.

Just because we've had s%#ttier score-wise 3 game losing streaks to end the season, doesn't mean this wasnt a s%#tty end to the season. One of the s%#ttiest, imo. That said, we played u dub closer than anyone......but it was all bulls%#t because our ex coach killed the locker room for the CW

One of those I am hoping that the Huskies just win the whole damn thing, just so we can always have that deals. But I may be in the distinct minority. Having a coach abandon the team right before the Civil War is a brand new one for me. Unreal! Someone said that we should implement a Soviet-style program to scrub Benedict's name, image, and likeness from old photographs. That sounds fair, just, and clever. Or maybe just fairly clever. Oregon State experienced a lot of firsts after the Washington game, which must never be repeated.

Yeah, everything took such a drastic turn that 8-5 is just fine. Now to move forward from the whole mess. I have been attending Oregon State games since I moved to Oregon in 1987. 8-5 works just fine, particularly with the way the end of the season coaching nightmare happened. I think there are reasons to be optimistic going forward. Go Beavs!

I admit that before the year started I expected DJU to be able to lift us. After all, we were pretty good without a decent QB. But DJU didn’t have that magic that we needed.
Still, it wasn’t long ago that we were celebrating finishing above .500.
But this season will be remembered for just one thing: traitors. Oh, I guess that’s actually 11 things.

The oregon game was a debacle because of the traitor. But I wonder if the Arizona and Washington games would have been different if he was not already planning his exit. We had a chance for an historic season and the CEO wanted a different job. I think better of Rollo than our old guy

I blame Smitty and the coaches that left for letting slip that they were leaving before the Civil War. They are fully-grown adults. As for everyone else:

I don’t blame the players.
