Pitching has been very good for these 2 games. A few too many walks yesterday, but even with that defense failed. Today, the gloves were left in the dugout and the bats never left the dugout. I'll only disagree in that the offense and defense suck. But, 11 BBs over two games is never "very good". E's hurt, but much less if there aren't walks also. Right now at 5-8 it's a team thing. I was so focused on the errors today, I did not realize the 5, late free passes. Total defensive breakdown. Of course, zero runs scored, near perfect pitching and D doesn't matter, and those two aspects were absent. Total team thing as you note. And I am still way too tense.

I can handle losses, but we've made it so easy. It's really in their heads, and I'm not sure what the slump buster is.

Sage, you left too soon. Poor Troy Claunch is wondering what the hell is happening at 2b. This is unreal. I agree. I played some catcher. It is your job to catch the ball, get rid of it, put it in the immediate vicinity of 2B. Midinfielders pissed away 3 outs. That was not a throwing error.

Pretty pathetic showing - I can’t see why we can’t hit, don’t have the fielding positions figured out and why we have zero situational hitting ability. Pretty sad beginning !

I knew OSU wouldn't be that talented overall. But, there are definitely some early growing pains and cracks in whatever the process is. One more tomorrow then into the fire next weekend!

I'll say it at the risk of being Captain obvious.....put McDowell in center and leave him there...no matter what.

Question for people who follow the program closer then I do. Is our drop off a matter of not living up to our potential or has the talent level and recruiting fallen off?

My guess is the fielding positions are earned at the plate, not with a glove. And after watching our offense, I think most of would do the same

There are people who can speak to this better than I, my two cents worth is that we've lost a lot of talent and experience the last two years and we've not had the Madrigal/Grenier type of class to replace them. Having said that, in 2016 when that great class were freshmen we missed the tournament. We have the toughest non conference schedule that I can remember which makes things that much more challenging. We will get better, but for those who only enjoy watching a baseball game if the Beavs win, you are in for a consistently inconsistent ride for the next six weeks.

From whatI saw in Arizona we are not very talented. I see no situational hitting and very poor pitching so far. I see a disappointing Year. Wish it were not so. Watch attendance and hope it does not get like Men’s Basketball.

I believe you will find that UCSB will be a ranked team. They play very similar to previous OSU teams and they believe they can/will win. We dont have that mind set yet and it will take some leadership from within the ranks to get them there. We need a lot of development in the fundamentals. I sit on the 3rd base line and watched their coach time our pitchers and he predicted the steals based on what pitch should be thrown . Beavs are predictable mainly because of the number of pitches we can throw. Pitchers will develop over the season . My biggest concern is hitting. It lost us a lot of games last year because we fould never figure it out. I know I used a lot of I and we, I dont wear a uniform or play the game. Forgive for that .

I've not seen a game yet, and it looks like I haven't really missed anything, which is depressing. Still a bit of me thinks that PC saw the writing on the wall. The talent level is obviously lacking, the coaching, we'll see I guess. Looks like a LONG and frustrating season in 2020. With WBB, MBB, and now BB returning to mediocre, it's frustrating most I'm guessing.
