I think someone (probably wilky) did an analysis of the Beavs performance in black jerseys in warm weather games. It wasn't great. Granted it's a night game, but there's a high of 90 degrees on Sunday. I'd be fine if we wore white.

The OSU cowboy logo reminds me of the New Mexico State one for cowboy grittiness. Now if we invited Wyoming to join them, all we need is to get the Stanford folks to reprise their Indian name and there would be the Ultimate Western Shootout...LOL!
Next year I hope the two OSU's work out a cool uniform/helmet combo for each team.
To Pokes: On a trip my friend and I took to Memphis from Oregon (The Elvis Pilgrimage), we drove through Oklahoma going to Graceland on I-40 and on the way back we took I-35 from Dallas (had to see the grassy knoll) to get hooked up with I-70 in Kansas. While going through the Sooner State, I swear that I have never met a friendlier people. If it was not for the football game being against us, I would be rooting for your side. May you find Oregonians at least half as good as your folks are when it comes to being genuinely nice.
Going through Okemah (Woody Guthrie's birthplace) let us find an excellent place to eat. Good old fashioned homestyle cooking, served partly in a restaurant type area and partly in a classic auditorium. This place is on the west side of town. I hope you get a chance to dine there some day. Come hungry. Leave happy. I guarantee it!

Oregon State played Minnesota in all-blacks two weeks later. It was 83 but no more than 70 to start the game at 7:00 p.m. Oregon State wore all-black against Southern Utah, but the temperature was below average. Two weeks later, Oregon State wore all-black against Arizona, but the temperature was again below average. The three-hottest all-black football games since 1997 in order are: 1. 1999 Georgia Southern 2. 2013 Eastern Washington 3. 2011 Sacramento State
All terrible losses or narrow wins.

Does anyone know how many season tickets have been sold and an idea of how many will be in attendance for Oklahoma state?

Ah, this topic never gets old. Wait... Ya know... It matters man. It just does. College football is nothing if not for tradition. it is the glue that holds this ship together and keeps us sane in the face of obscene money, suspect conference dealings, exploitation of amateur athletes and everything else that stands to sully the game. The game is not pure, but we close our eyes and pretend it is. and our traditions are what we cling too in order to forget the bad parts. Oregon State wears Orange. An uncommon color among college programs, particularly as the primary. We own it, we wear it, we should be proud and we should never sacrifice it. For a game that is nationally (is it? it is on FS1...) televised at night, lights glowing off a sea of beautiful Beaver (ugh...sigh, and Cowboy...) Orange is a site to see that is far more majestic than a sea of black shirts that, by laws of physics, absorb light. It is an unforgivable TRAVESTY that our athletic department could be so clueless, so blunderingly buffoonish, as to fall prey to a cheap "color-out" gimmick. Leave that nonsense for all the boring ass blue and white schools of the world. It will be a cold day in hell before I ever set foot in our sacred stadium in anything other than Orange.

Ok so make them wear white because they dont appear to have another primary color. We do. It's our alter ego. Black Bandits of Benton County.

I wear salmon. I have an Oregon State shirt I bought at Nevada-Reno and I sit on the east side so it is no longer Orange in front.

Ah, this topic never gets old. Wait... But what songs should be played between quarters? Between 3rd and 4th? TNT (and not this "OSU" version of TNT) And yes, WEAR ORANGE every game. Just the fact that people are asking "what color are we supposed to wear" shows what a folly it is to have fans wear different colors to different games. It's easy to remember to WEAR ORANGE every game.

What's the color scheme for your team? You going to match the beavs all black look? Oh, ugh. Is this a "wear black" game? No, it's a WEAR ORANGE game...as they all should be.

And more importantly, do you have any fans who wear salmon? If so I want to meet them. It always baffles me how some people think salmon is close enough to orange. It's more pink than orange. And you can't pony up $15 for an orange OSU Tshirt? sigh

A dedicated, infamous, and beloved Beaver fan and patron saint of these message boards once thought he could get away with wearing salmon. We never let him forget it.

But there are plenty of people who show up in salmon. They MUST think it's "orange"ish. It's not, but they seem to think it is.

I think I shall wait until the university tweets me and tells me what to wear, before I disregard then and put on Orange. Actually... since football season has finally arrived, I am wearing Orange every day for the rest of the month.
