so should Wayne Go after the guy at Nevada Eric Musselman I’d be weary of him. He has solely relied on transfers there. Don’t know how long he can sustain that. 10 transfers on his current roster.

I think Wayne is one of those that are too good friends with the AD execs to be let go. We could see an Ernie Kent type of situation here where they ride him out.

No way Musselman would even consider this program OK Mark Few then... Name slips my mind as I begin my my 3rd scotch neat... but, Few's lead assistant is highly sought after... I'll take that pedigree and Zag recruit leftovers.

Great international recruiter. But he is the heir apparent in Spokane. Donny Daniels also a very good assistant, but that Zag staff is solid. i am sure glad I sent both of my daughters to Gonzaga, gives me a rooting interest this time of year. GO ZAGS!

If Tres leaves after this year, then his final play as a Beav is the most Tres play ever. Dribble drive 1 on 3, starts right, spins back to his left into 2 guys who are ready and waiting, forces up a shot that misses badly.

The only GU assistant (other than Few) I can think of who has been even moderately successful as a head coach is Leon Rice at Boise State. I'm thinking Wazzu will make a big push for him, as he's an alum. Billy Grier, who supposedly turned down the OSU job before CR was hired, failed badly at USD. I'm just not sure Few's coaching tree is all that spectacular.

Im going to assume i am in the huge majority of Oregon State Basketball fans who are going to be very excited about next year's team if Tres Tinkle does return. I do not understand any fan of Oregon State Basketball, casual or deeply invested (even fans with some incomprehensible BEEF against Tres) ever purposefully hoping he doesn't come back next year, for no other reason it is extremely likely a losing season is on the horizon if he doesnt return.
All the guy has done is play his ass off and win games for this team that has allowed them to have the first winning conference record in many dark days and years of bottom dwelling. But beyond that emotion I don't understand anyone wanting to fast forward to the bad old days, unless you are are clamoring for the thrill of I Told You This Would Happen.
Next year's team will be better i think, and definitely not worse. Cmon Tres Finish in Style!

In fact if you watch closely in person as TV doesn't allow quite the access, Tres is maybe the WORST defender of any good/1st All-Conference college player I've witnessed in recent years. Not only is he bad... he is often seen getting beat badly, then throwing his hands up, or pointing at others like it is their fault. You also NEVER see the Thompson's look at daddy multiple times a game. Nor in a 20 point deficient see Daddy seek out his son to high five him after a horrific turnover while others are scolded on the court for the same thing. This board appears a lot like the football board in year 2 of GAG. And, I think many similar type excuses are flying. Results... TBD

This board appears a lot like the football board in year 2 of GAG. And, I think many similar type excuses are flying. Results... TBD You are most likely spot on given the point differential of the team when Tres is on the court. However every coach will allow a player to be on the court given his ability to score, which Tres can undoubtedly do. The coaches job is to then surround a guy like that with guys who buy in on the defensive end and pick up that slack. That is what concerns me most, guys like hollin’s have an incredibly short leash and offensively are relegated to setting screens only and popping to the 3pt line, instead of rolling to the basket. I’d rather see a continuity based offense where everyone can be a threat rather than waiting for one of the Big 3 to find their shot based off a defensive miscue. Granted I don’t watch every game in detail and breakdown each offensive set, but I feel like with the talent on this roster there are more creative sets that could unleash the talents of more than the Big 3.

Answer yes worse record or answer no. Easy answer... you'll never know... and can argue both ways. Wayne and other players may be better without Tres. More team balance and depth, harder to defend vs let Tres get his and basically OSU plays 2 on 5 with he and Ethan unless something drastically changes. Second the league will be better. Does Tres here mean more Ws... maybe... but meaningless ones. Just as the 4 seed and bye shows.
