"Swing and he got him looking!" Jon Warren is the greatest. "Abel retired 15 straight batters.....with 2 walks in between." COBeav suggested a thread for "Best of Jon warren" I'll let you post it up first

Nice job, getting the pop-up after facing the bases full. Nebraska likes to score runs in bunches late, that is a big stop right there.

Nobody mildly questions officials like Jon Warren. "That looked like it was foul." "That looked right down the middle." "The tag was there, but I guess the ump says he got under it."

It really bothers me how much bellyaching you can hear from our fans on close ball/strike calls. It is way too loud way too often. In the second game, there was a lot more ump jeering from both fan bases. The ump was not going to call the low pitch a strike. Period. Gor Either Team For THE Entire game. Very consistent. Lots of good umps don't call that low ball, and I sure the heck can't say from my seats. Bryce adjusted very well. The Nebraska starter let it get in his head. He was toast. Now, the Nebraska reliever was perfect for this umpire. He hit corners and pitched at the top of the zone. Lots of major league pop-ups. Troy Claunch is an outstanding catcher, but his inexperience may have shown. He was trying to frame up every low pitch, even those at dirt level. Crowd would boo the call, but the pitches were low. Troy will learn when to frame to help his pitcher. And Troy obviously has some pop. Lol. Finally and off-topic, Kyler M. has serious speed. If he didn't, we may never see him again. But a guy that can impact a game just by reaching first and can also 'run a ball down' in the outfield will get playing time. He doesn't read the ball off the bat as well as Kwan, but, holy cow, can he close on the ball. He also will be in bunting practice all week. Lol. Bailey already has taken a couple of Casey walks after the 6 terrible bunt results from KM.
