OSU swept the yucks
OSU is in second place in the Pac 12
OSU is 8-4 in conference play, on pace to go 12-6 for the best conference record since 1841. Or something like that.
OSU is still sniffing around the NCAAs and a real contender for the NIT.
Pretty decent season so far.

By all measures this has been a successful season, particularly considering our recent history, and I am overall happy. I'd be more happy with two more OOC wins and not laying an egg against Stanford... But I am happy.

We are 2-1 to start the 2nd half, a game below our 3-0 start and vs inferior teams (Furd/Cal vs SC/UCLA), and have 4 of the next 6 on the road. The home games are not going to be tough/crucial games (ASU/UA). If WSU keeps playing as it is Pullman is not guaranteed, so I can still see a 2-4 finish for 10-8. I'd think there's a huge log jam in the 11-7 to 9-9 range, tie breakers could be huge for the Pac12 tourney seeding. I'd think 18 wins plus at least one tourney W would get an NIT invite. But, as always conference tourney upsets/auto berths can reek havoc on both tourneys.

Seeing as how what became OSU didn't even begin until the mid-1850's... yes.

Slow on the uptake. It's got to be my meds. Two mental lapse in 12 hours, yikes.

We were 17-1 in 1980. Am I missing something? 1841. I think it was 1842 15-3 in conference. Peach baskets were really cheap too.

One more add to the good news list: Saturday night was a fantastic reminder of what a full house / electric atmosphere at Gill looks & feels like. Hopefully we get more fans in seats for those last 2 games!

More good news? Oregon State is 1 1/2 games up on the pack of Colorado, Stanford, and USC for a fourth place finish and bye in the Pac-12 Tournament.

More good news? Oregon State is 1 1/2 games up on the pack of Colorado, Stanford, and USC for a fourth place finish and bye in the Pac-12 Tournament. Our current position is actually somewhat unfortunate. If the season ended today and we had the 2 seed, Arizona is currently in the 10 spot and we would have to play them should they win their first game. Vegas is essentially McKale center for them and playing U of A with that crowd would be an unfortunate way to be rewarded for a 2nd place finish. So I'm a big fan of U of A somehow figuring out how to break out of their 7 game funk and get out of 10th (of course throwing in a loss to us too ).
