Sounds like one of those football guys that will be a lot of fun to watch in a defense that may surprise a lot of people this fall. But my favorite part of the article was this:
It helped that Gumbs knew cornerback DeShon Wilson from Stellar Prep and played against Isaac and Isaiah Hodgins, who played at Berean Christian in Oakley, California.
Isaac, a defensive lineman for OSU, actually faced Gumbs as an offensive lineman in the playoffs.
“He’s pretty fast, you know. I think he got a sack on me,” Isaac Hodgins said. “It was kind of my quarterback’s fault, but yeah.”

I'm really excited to see the impact of the athletic duo of Gumbs & Roberts in the LB crew, the JC dLine transfers in Whitley, Rawls, Sandberg, a healthy Morris as a safety & any impact Redshirt or true freshman on the D. If 4-6 play significant time we will see such an improvement on that side of the ball.

Then we can call our defense the Cascadia Sackduction Zone.

Just have a feeling after watching him play.

Neither here nor there, lots of dudes look like world beaters standing in line at the grocery store.... but...
I saw Addison out and about over the weekend and the man is RIPPED. I have been around lots of OSU athletes in the 30+ years I have lived in town and have always been surprised how up close they don't always match how I perceive them when watching them on the field (Elu Aydon? Doesn't seem like he is pushing 4 bills, Kylor Kelley? 7 ft is way way taller in person than you expect). Anyway, point is Addison is every bit of the 6'3" he is listed at and not a shred of fat. Hopefully he can translate it to the field, but I am super excited for the defense this coming year!

I saw a lot of guys that at least look great getting off the bus.

I'm just hoping his knee doesn't hamper him after his rehab. Example: James Rogers was a fine receiver after his rehab, but he seemed to lose that extra burst of speed that he had before the injury.

My vote is to not rush him back to playing too early in practice. I know Spring practice is huge for player development but we neeed this guy healthy in Aug-Jan next year... for the bow game Seems like coming back too early has become a thing. Let that ACL heal up completely please... that is all. and I'm excited to watch him play when he is ready! I'm holding out hope that next year's defense has us all pleasantly surprised. Go BEAVS!

If the surprise is seeing the D wrap up and make tackles, that will go a long ways to making us better than next to last in the nation on D. After that we will see if the additional talent can carry us up the rankings to the point that our hat is in the ring each and every single game.

Wrap up and make tackles? That is so yesterday. Now it seems if the effort is to knock them down or shove them down. I would love to see drills with blocking and tackling by leading with your face like we were taught in the old days. (imagine actually looking at what you are hitting) You have a helmet and cage. It is more effective and it is indeed SAFER.
