What blows me away, is Stanford's best player is out, Sharma has 3, and they're finally looking human and we STILL can't take advantage. The tendency of this team to just 'go away' in big moments is really disconcerting. I feel like we as Beaver fans are collectively Charlie Brown running to kick the football as Lucy takes it away....every....single....time. Sigh.....it's tough being a Beaver fan. They came up huge in big moments @utah. Hit a ton of big shots. This game just feels like a let down spot where nothing can go right. It’s frustrating but it happens all the time in CBB. WSU spanked ASU tonight. Beat Cal and were 15-8 (7-4) with the Ducks coming to town.ave found something Blown out by 20 now, terrible shooting night, no D, not a good combination for winning anything. Was last weekend an outlier, looks like it, I thought they may have finally found something, guess not. Sorry, but Stanford is not a great team, 20 by Sharma, kidding me!! We looked lost most of the night. Hope CAL doesn't show up or we might be in trouble.. Dammmmmmmmmmmm

Sad. The sweep didn't do much good, since we can't defend our own Home Court?!?!

I'd argue the point that Furd is not bad. Pedestrian record. But, they are far more talented and deeper than we are. I'd argue that only Tres starts for them in place if #23. They are talented 1-7.
We played poorly mainly because they outclassed us athletically... long, quick, and played with discipline.
Without looking I think they've played some tough teams on the road.

Lid on the basket, Stanford played amazing, etc. I don’t buy it. Those are just excuses. This team had no leadership on the floor tonight. It seems like they don’t have what it takes mentally to win consistently. Frustrating, but it is what it is.

Stanford played a very hard non conference schedule. They are a decent team that shot lights-out tonight. If they still had Reid that went to Kentucky, they would be a top team in the league.

They have played at N. Carolina at Kansas(lost in OT).. Wisconsin and Florida on neutral court in Battle for Atlantis

Some times that snowball starts rolling at the top of the mountain and picks up more snow and debris on its way down. Just one of those games.

It's the Pac-12. We suck along with the other 11 teams. Getting killed at home by a sucky .500 Cardinal team goes with sucking. Just ask ASU, who got clawed by the clawless Cougs in Tempe, or the Big Baller Bruins being run down in Pauley by Ralphie and his friends. Last year saw Pac-12 men's basketball show itself as The Conference Of Chumps when the NCAA's came along with Arizona, who despite having the best big man pro prospect on the roster and a great tradition, couldn't get it done in the 1st round for yet another Pac-12 epic fail delivered by a conference champ.
Schadenfreude time: Would you rather be us or Oregon right now? All those 4 and 5 star recruits with expectations to match and they're not Ducks so much as drowned rats even when playing in the shallow end of the college basketball pool that our conference has become.
Oh well, we're a baseball school! Now if we could just convince the best catcher in the country to show up on the gridiron, we might just have the best PK in the country. Wouldn't that go down as the oddest combination position-wise of being great at two sports?
Now let's get some sort of postseason berth and win at least once...

Very disappointing. About all I can say about that game. They got the opening they needed as far as conference standings, looked in cautiously and got the door slammed in their faces.

I got this one pcm. We stink. Fire Tinkle. Lol, PCM is so predictably only in the loss threads, almost algorithmic.

Stanford's record is definitely deceiving, and unfortunately it looks like we ran into the team that took Kansas to OT in their house. Stanford's 10 losses are almost all top 100 teams, many top 50. Their worst loss is @ucla - For a middling team, that's a pretty good for a 'bad' loss. Had we played the same schedule as them, we'd very likely have the same (and very possibly worse) record.
Regardless, it was a game we really had to win to Dance, so pretty depressing. We've had too many other missteps to absorb a game where the opponent is just much more ready to go - that happens; we just really needed it to not happen. Still, top 4 in conference is still in reach and would be a nice finish.

And I'll go a step further than that....he was actually semi-constructive/positive afterwards.....perhaps another facet to PCM we haven't seen. I know he had a brighter outlook than I did anyhow, haha
