I read that. Didn't like it but there may be some nuggets of truth in it. We will find out in a year or two how good or bad the current class is. Anything else is just opinion...... Noticed he never mentioned in-state 4* Musgrave........didn't fit his narrative I guess.
Go Beavs!!

Hmmm, OSU landed 5 state of Oregon players ranked above Simon Thompson, yet he acts as though our whole group of Oregon kids aren't even in the top 16 in-state players.

The key issue at stake here is that class ranking is driven on volume. and 5 of our guys are transfers which do not count in traditional rankings. 247 took the liberty of "re-ranking" our transfers, and lowered the stars of every one of them, save for Gumbs. The basis of this was on the destination of the transfer. Lindsey, Gebbia, Avery, Gumbs were, in order, 5*, 4*, 4*, 4* high school recruits at 247, an now one to two season later they are all 3* players, save Gumbs, for the purposes of ranking this class. It is a bit suspect if you ask me.

The sky is falling for the BEAVS gets clicks for him just like the "2nd coming"recruiting efforts from the little duckies. Problem...it's a perception that's out there and the narrative. Recruiting is the life blood of all programs. I think the transfers all need to play significant roles and peeps will be wrong about this class. To have 5 plus guys that come from a recruiting class that impact playing time is significant

I just wish he would go away and only right about the school down the road.
Frankly, why can't both schools be recruiting better than last year. It isn't like both Women's hoops teams have found sucess recently.
Is he just as critical of there crappy baseball recruiting down the road? It all is so obviously one sided.
I hope he is around in a few years to be accountable for his predictions and conclusions.
That is all.

This is cherry picking bulls%#t. What would USC's class be if they signed every player within 150 miles of their campus? The entire premise is that if we offered a bunch of dudes who ONLY HAVE FCS OFFERS we'd have a better class? Huh? The quote from Huffman is as out of context as it gets. What "something" is he even talking about? Why are there no more comments from ANYONE other than Nemec. As Canzano has mellowed over time, Nemec has taken up the pot stirring click bait asshole mantle like a champ. f%#* this guy.

I was pretty shocked at how negative and insulting that article was. I think he was trying to out-crapzano crapzano. What a f%#*ing dick !! Why the hell would you write something in that tone when you know your reader base includes those faithful to the program. He may be technically correct and only time will tell how this class pans out on the field but to demean the program and J. Smith with some of the prose he chose to use is just plain mean. This style of writing which seems to be the norm these days is extremely unattractive. f%#* the boregonian !!

Recruiting is over-hyped to kill time during a slow part of the year. Outside of the top 15-20 clear difference makers, you can lump most of the 3 and low 4 stars together and get a mixed bag. The SEC has an advantage because they have a lot more of those big lineman in the south that end up providing the depth for championships in a couple years. Overall, this OSU class doesn't look all that different from the UA, Utah, or WSU classes. Time will tell. And if you believe rankings, OSU is ranked ahead of that genius recruiter Sitake's BYU team, and higher than Texas Tech, Cincy, Louisville, and significantly better than Anderpants at USU. I like this group, and for the first time we may actually see the entire class enroll in school.

We'll see how the transfers turn out. As far as the overall class turns out, 247Sports has the average rank at .8401 the last I looked (it changes with each new signing), which is higher than any recruiting year OSU has had except for the 2010 class. Nemic chose to go by total numbers which looks worse because of fewer signings.
I'm not worried about it. If Smith and company ca continue to get kids with better individual rankings than in the past, the next time we have a "full" class he'll have to eat his words.

Nemec remains a journalistic pipsqueak and it is a sad commentary that any newspaper would retain him on their staff.
I wouldn't mind seeing him banned from Reser, Gill and Goss.

That's just not true, not even remotely close. A 4 star player is 5 or 10 times more likely to be an all american than a 3 star player, for example. Comparing one player to another is a crap shoot, comparing 200 four star players to 200 three star players is backed by very hard data, every single year.

I didn’t read the article as I can easily surmise its content based on all his previous articles concerning the Beavs, so I won’t comment on that. However, I caught the last bit of an interview with him on local radio. He stated the beavs recruiting class was a colossal failure and any of the coaches that don’t see that are lying to themselves, close to a direct quote. That’s not what threw me though, he went on to talk PSU and said they had the best recruiting class in the history of big sky. After their horrible results last year the coaches were able to table their egos and ask him how they can improve. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, the dude is now hyping himself for helping a program recruit better.
