And yet, our own fans are "unimpressed".

"He's not a difference maker." Those folks will be awakened next year when they see the difference.

"He's not a difference maker." Those folks will be awakened next year when they see the difference. It as if they forgot why we went 5-27 or whatever that one year...

"He's not a difference maker." Pac-12 way down. Coach's son. Plays too much. Always goes left. Doesn't play defense. Sister shops at the jerk store. Insert Ralph Miller anecdote from 1981. What else do we need to preemptively add to the thread just for the sake of efficiency?

Yeah, we're a better team when he doesn't play!

The 'coach's son favoritism' particular gets me. Maybe indeed some players past or present (rumored here) have had issues with it, but there's no question that any coach would be doing the same thing with this roster - getting Tres lots of touches. In fact, being his dad would make it harder, because you have the extra baggage of perceived favoritism as well as just the dynamics of coaching your own kid in general.

Those folks will be awakened next year when they see the difference. It as if they forgot why we went 5-27 or whatever that one year... Because osu had zero depth that could play a lick of basketball? And... osu was a stellar 2-4 vs weak schedule at the time of injury. Yeah... 5-27 was ALL TT's injury.

At that same time Stevie was in a boot with a stress fracture.....good lord get over yourself. Again... no ST, but had TT. NO DEPTH OF ANY KIND. No TT and ST was ONE game, a win over Southern Oregon... 3-4 other wins over UTSA and Praire View A&M. ST played in game 9... loss vs Miss St... lead team with 20. Other "D1" mates... Drew, Manuel, Jaquori, Cheikh, Stacy, Muller, Dahlen, Big G, Sanders, Dew. Yeah... roster due to injury! No... TT at that stage of his development was maybe a +3/4 games... get over yourself. That's a TERRIBLE roster.

A player that equals plus wins when on the court... even with a terrible roster as you point out... is a difference maker.

A player that equals plus wins when on the court... even with a terrible roster as you point out... is a difference maker. It's been my point all along. Is not that TT isn't a fine player, or the other two sons the same. Nor that WT is fine hack of a coach. It's that there is and hasn't been a "roster" being built. And, the defections for whatever reason are the HCs responsibility as it affects roster development. So, as eager as posters are to give a pass because of the lone tourney in 25 years, it also was due to circumstances other than good coaching. The state of other leagues/teams, when will/did/how often 6 Pac12 teams get in, GPII playing as well as he did as a JC, etc. The same goes for 5-27... injuries were a part, but not why. And, as happy as I/many are at 14-7/6-3 it is a very similar situation. There is no talented depth being built. Holy cow, if TT does leave... no ST, TT, Big G... and a recruiting class that's tagged 8th to 10th in the Pac12... well, it's back to 10-13 wins and 9th or worse in the conference. Short term satisfaction, comparing to past coaches is all good for some, but I believe for most we want to see a "program" being built that is sustainable. There should be more signs of such at this stage.

I agree with 11 and Atown. I like W Tinkle. I hope Tres sticks around next year but for him, I'm guessing the best move is to play for money either in the USA or Europe. I think he can have a Kyle Singler like career. But we need more players in the pipeline. Next year, where will we find points if Tres is gone? I think we will be better defensively, but it won't compensate for the offense that has left. I think K Kelley has some low post game, Hollins will score more, but then after that? Are we hoping the scorer from SoCal can come in and average 15? Maybe, but that's a stretch. If there is some JC guy that is at least 6'5 and can shoot (maybe a bit more of a player than Reichle) we need to find him. I forgot Dastrop but he didnt score much at BYU either.

Yes was more than just TT being hurt that season..Didn't OSU have Duvivier leave and Bruce transer before season started?.. either one of them could have helped with depth
